Drum and Dance Workshop for Tweens

Raymond Carver RoomTweens can explore Egyptian dance at this workshop for all experience levels!
Step into the elegance and artistry of Egyptian style dance, a beautiful and expressive form rooted in rich cultural tradition. Dancers will explore hip work, expressive arms and musical interpretation. Class will include technique drills, posture and movement fundamentals, with combinations inspired by classic and modern Egyptian dance.
This class welcomes dancers of all levels and focuses on building strength, confidence and artistry, in a supportive and encouraging environment.
About the Artist
Talia is a second-generation dancer from the Pacific Northwest. She began learning Middle Eastern dance at the age of eight performing in local events and festivals. After deciding she wanted to become a professional dancer, Talia moved to Minneapolis, MN and began studies as The Cassandra School of Belly Dance. Currently, Talia is the Director of Shula Azhar and Raks Halifa dance companies in the Sequim/Port Angeles area of Washington state. She continues to teach and perform throughout the United States.
This program is in partnership with Peninsula Performs! which brings professional artists into K-12 classrooms in Port Angeles and Sequim during the school year.
